Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification (as on the last date of application)
Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications:
- Passed H.S. (10+2) or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology along with a two-year Diploma in Medical Technology (Lab) recognized by the State Medical Faculty of West Bengal or other recognized institution.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology (Lab) from a recognized institution/university.
- A one-year Diploma in Medical Technology (Lab) from the State Medical Faculty of West Bengal or recognized university, provided the basic qualification for this diploma is a B.Sc. degree in Pure Science or Biology.
Age Limit (as on 1st January 2025)
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 39 years
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST Candidates: 5 years
- OBC (A & B): 3 years
- PWD: 6 years (Upper age limit capped at 45 years)
Pay Scale
Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Level 9 with a starting basic pay of Rs. 28,900/- per month, along with other admissible allowances as per Government of West Bengal service rules.
Selection Process
The selection of candidates will be based on academic qualifications, work experience, and interview performance, with marks distributed as follows:
- Academic Qualification: 75 Marks
- Experience: 10 Marks
- Interview: 15 Marks
- Total: 100 Marks
Academic Qualification Weightage:
- Higher Secondary (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology – Up to 25 marks
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology – Up to 50 marks
- Two-year / One-year Diploma in Medical Technology – Up to 40 marks
Work Experience:
- Relevant experience as a Medical Technologist in Government/Private sector: Maximum of 10 marks
- More than 60 months of experience gives full marks
Note: The Board may also introduce a written exam or computer-based test if required.
