  • Pay Level: Rs. 25,500 – 92,300 (as per 7th CPC)
  • Eligibility: For top-performing international athletes who have represented India at the highest levels.

  • Archery (Men & Women, Recurve/Compound) – 1 Post
  • Athletics (Women – 100m/200m/800m/1500m/10000m/Triple Jump/High Jump) – 2 Posts
  • Swimming (Men – Freestyle/Breaststroke/Backstroke/Butterfly) – 1 Post

Category 2: Level-2 & Level-3 Posts

  • Pay Level: Rs. 19,900 – 69,100 (as per 7th CPC)
  • Eligibility: For athletes with national or international achievements below the Olympics/World Championships tier.

Candidates must be flexible about posting locations. Vacancies are spread across Eastern Railway Headquarters, Divisions (Howrah, Asansol, Malda), and Workshops (Liluah, Kanchrapara, Jamalpur).

Application Fees

The application fee has been structured in a way that is refundable (partially or fully), making it fair and accessible for all.

  • General (UR), OBC, EWS (Male): Rs. 500 (Rs. 400 refundable after appearing in trials)
  • SC, ST, Women, Minorities, EBC: Rs. 250 (fully refundable after appearing in trials)

Payment is accepted only through online modes—Debit/Credit Card, UPI, or Net Banking.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria are based on Age, Education, and Sports Achievements.

1. Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 25 years
  • Reference Date: 1st January 2026
  • No relaxation in age for any category.

2. Educational Qualification

  • Category 1 (Level-4/5): Graduation in any discipline.
  • Category 2 (Level-2/3): 12th Pass (10+2) OR 10th + ITI/NAC.
  • Category 3 (Level-1): 10th Pass OR ITI OR NAC.

Higher qualifications can fetch extra marks in final evaluation.

3. Sports Achievements

This is the most critical criterion. Only achievements from 1st April 2023 onwards are valid.

  • Category 1 (Level-4/5): Must have represented India in Olympics or secured top 3 in World Cup/Asian Games/Commonwealth Games.
  • Category 2 (Level-2/3): Must have represented India in international events or secured top 3 in national-level championships.
  • Category 3 (Level-1): Must have represented State/National level and secured top rankings.

Specific rules apply for each sport (e.g., Kabaddi weight restrictions, Cricket tournament levels, Badminton/Table Tennis ranking limits).

Salary Scale

Railway jobs come with attractive pay, allowances, and perks.

  • Category 1 (Level-4/5): Rs. 25,500 – 92,300
  • Category 2 (Level-2/3): Rs. 19,900 – 69,100
  • Category 3 (Level-1): Rs. 18,000 – 56,900

Selection Process

The recruitment will be merit-based, in two stages:

  1. Field Trials (40 Marks): Candidates’ fitness and skills will be tested. Must score 25/40 to qualify.
  2. Document Verification (60 Marks):
    • Sports achievements (50 marks)
    • Educational qualifications (10 marks)

Minimum qualifying marks:

  • Level-4/5: 70
  • Level-2/3: 65
  • Level-1: 60
