A total of 1763 slots have been announced across various divisions, units, and workshops including Prayagraj, Jhansi, Agra, and Headquarters/Workshops. This is a golden opportunity for candidates who have completed 10th with ITI in relevant trades to undergo one year of apprenticeship training in the Indian Railways.

Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit (as on 16 September 2025)
- Minimum Age: 15 years
- Maximum Age: 24 years
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwBD: 10 years
- Ex-servicemen: Service years + 3 years (with at least 6 months continuous service)
Date of Birth Range:
- UR: 16/09/2001 – 16/09/2010
- SC/ST: 16/09/1996 – 16/09/2010
- OBC: 16/09/1998 – 16/09/2010
Educational Qualification
- Must have passed 10th/SSC/Matriculation (10+2 system) with at least 50% aggregate marks.
- Must have an ITI certificate in relevant trade issued by NCVT/SCVT recognized by Government of India.
- Note: Candidates awaiting results, failed in ITI, Engineering Graduates, and Diploma holders are not eligible.
Selection Process
The selection of candidates will be purely on a merit basis:
- Merit List Preparation: Based on average percentage marks of 10th (with minimum 50%) and ITI. Equal weightage will be given to both.
- Tie-breaking Rule: If two candidates secure the same marks, preference will be given to:
- Candidate with older age
- If age is the same, the one who passed 10th earlier will be preferred
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates (1.5 times the notified vacancies) will be called for DV.
- Medical Fitness: Candidates must produce a medical certificate signed by a government doctor (not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon).
Salary / Stipend
- Apprentices will be paid stipend as per government rules.
- Though the exact figures may vary, stipends generally range between ₹7,000 – ₹9,000 per month depending on the trade and state government guidelines.
Training Period & Stipend
- Training Period: 1 year
- Stipend: Paid monthly at prescribed rates as per Apprenticeship Act, 1961 and rules of the concerned State Government.

Candidates need to upload scanned copies of:
- 10th/Matriculation mark sheet & certificate
- ITI mark sheets and trade certificate (NCVT/SCVT)
- Caste certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS in prescribed format)
- PwBD certificate (if applicable)
- Ex-servicemen/Serving certificate (if applicable)
- Passport-size color photograph (20KB–70KB, recent, without cap/sunglasses)
- Signature (20KB–30KB, clear and recent)
Important Instructions for Candidates
- Applications must be submitted only online through the official website.
- Candidates should use a valid email ID and mobile number, which must remain active till the completion of the process.
- Only one application per trade is allowed. Multiple applications with different details will be rejected.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending Document Verification.
- Apprenticeship training does not guarantee a job in Railways. After completion, no automatic absorption into service will take place.
