The Madhya Pradesh Police Department has officially announced one of the biggest recruitment drives of the year – Madhya Pradesh Police Constable (GD) Recruitment 2025. This direct recruitment aims to fill thousands of constable positions across various units, providing a golden opportunity for both male and female aspirants who wish to serve the state police. The recruitment will be conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (ESB), Bhopal, following a well-structured selection process.

  • Exam Start Date: 30th October 2025

The exam will be conducted in multiple shifts, and candidates must strictly follow the schedule mentioned in their admit card.

Vacancy Details

The recruitment is being conducted for Constable (General Duty – GD) posts under two major categories:

  1. Constable (GD) – Special Armed Force (SAF) (only for male candidates)
  2. Constable (GD) – Except SAF (DEF and other units) (for both male and female candidates)

Total Vacancies

  • Constable (GD) SAF: 700 posts
  • Constable (GD) DEF/Other Units: 6,800 posts
  • Overall Constable (GD): 7,500 posts

The vacancies are further distributed across categories such as Unreserved (UR), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). In addition, horizontal reservations are applicable for Ex-Servicemen (10%), Home Guards (15%), and Female candidates (35%).

Application Fee

Candidates are required to pay the application fee as per their category. The fee is divided into examination fees and portal charges.

  • For Unreserved Candidates (General Category): ₹500/-
  • For SC / ST / OBC / EWS candidates (Madhya Pradesh Domicile only): ₹250/-
  • Departmental Exam Fee:
    • UR: ₹200/-
    • SC / ST / OBC / EWS (Madhya Pradesh domicile): ₹100/-

Additional Charges:

  • Through MP Online Kiosk: ₹60/-
  • If applying through a registered citizen user: ₹20/-

Payment must be made online via debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

  • Candidate must be a citizen of India.

Educational Qualification

  • For UR, OBC, and SC categories: Candidates must have passed Class 10th (Matriculation) under 10+2 system or Higher Secondary Examination or equivalent from a recognized board.
  • For ST candidates: Minimum qualification is Class 8th pass or equivalent.

No relaxation in qualification will be entertained except in special circumstances as recommended by the competent authority.

Age Limit (as on 29th September 2025)

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 33 years (for general male candidates)

Upper Age Relaxation as per MP Government Rules:

  • Female candidates (all categories): up to 38 years
  • SC / ST / OBC male candidates (Madhya Pradesh domicile): up to 38 years
  • Government employees, Corporation/Mandal employees, Ex-Servicemen, and Nagar Sainik: up to 38 years
  • Inter-caste married candidates: up to 38 years for males, 43 years for females
  • Sports Award winners (male): up to 38 years; (female): up to 43 years

Salary and Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be appointed as Constable (GD) with the following pay scale:

  • Pay Matrix Level: ₹19,500 – ₹62,000

As per state government rules, newly appointed constables will receive:

  • 70% of the minimum salary during the first year
  • 80% of the minimum salary during the second year
  • 90% of the minimum salary during the third year

In addition to the basic pay, candidates will be eligible for allowances and benefits approved by the Madhya Pradesh Government such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), medical facilities, and pension under the Defined Contributory Pension Scheme applicable to employees appointed on or after 1st January 2005.

Selection Process

The recruitment process will be conducted in two phases:

Phase 1: Online Examination

  • Conducted by the Employees Selection Board (ESB).
  • Objective-type multiple-choice questions.
  • Exam duration: 2 hours (120 minutes).
  • Exam will be conducted in two shifts per day.

Exam Schedule:

  • Reporting Time (Shift 1): 7:30 AM – 8:30 AM
  • Reading Instructions: 9:20 AM – 9:30 AM
  • Exam Time: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM
  • Reporting Time (Shift 2): 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM
  • Reading Instructions: 2:20 PM – 2:30 PM
  • Exam Time: 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM

Phase 2: Physical Test and Medical Examination

Conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Police Department. This phase includes:

  1. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – Candidates will be tested on running, long jump, and other physical tasks.
  2. Physical Standards Test (PST) – Height, chest, and weight measurements will be verified.
  3. Medical Examination – To ensure fitness and eligibility.

Candidates must pass each stage to be considered for final selection.

  • Candidates are not allowed to leave the exam hall until the examination is over.

Reservation Policy

Madhya Pradesh Police Recruitment 2025 follows the state reservation norms:

  • Scheduled Caste (SC): 16%
  • Scheduled Tribe (ST): 20%
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC): 27%
  • Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 10%

Additionally, 35% of seats are reserved for women candidates, while 10% for Ex-Servicemen and 15% for Home Guards.

Posting and Job Role

Selected candidates may be posted in any district police unit across Madhya Pradesh. Postings can be within:

  • Special Armed Forces (SAF)
  • District Executive Force (DEF)
  • Special units such as Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Lokayukta, Railway Police, or other MP Government Departments
