Vacancy Details

Salary / Stipend

  • Graduate Apprentices: ₹9,000 per month
  • Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: ₹8,000 per month

The stipend will be provided for the entire duration of the one-year apprenticeship.

Eligibility Criteria

To ensure their candidature is considered, applicants must meet the following eligibility conditions:

1. Educational Qualifications

  • Graduate Apprentices (Category I):
    Candidates must have a degree in Engineering or Technology from a statutory university or an institution empowered by an Act of Parliament to grant such degrees.
  • Technician (Diploma) Apprentices (Category II):
    Candidates must hold a diploma in Engineering or Technology from a State Council or Board of Technical Education established by a State Government, or a relevant university diploma.

2. Age Limit

The age limit for applicants will be as per the Apprenticeship Rules. Candidates are advised to check the official guidelines for category-wise age limits.

3. Reservation of Vacancies

Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS candidates will be followed according to the guidelines of the Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1973. Candidates claiming reservation must submit valid certificates in the prescribed government format. Without proper documentation, candidates will be considered under the general category.

4. Minimum Physical Standards

Candidates must meet the physical standards prescribed under Clause 4 of the Apprenticeship Rule 1992, including any subsequent amendments.

5. Previous Training / Experience

Candidates who are currently undergoing or have already completed apprenticeship under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1973, and/or have one year or more of experience, are not eligible to apply.

Selection Procedure

The selection of candidates will be based on merit. Key steps in the selection process include:

  1. Merit List Preparation:
    Candidates will be ranked based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination (B.E./B.Tech/Diploma). The merit list will be prepared category-wise (General/SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS).
  2. Certificate Verification:
    Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification. This step will confirm the eligibility criteria, including educational qualification, age, and reservation status.
  3. Preliminary Offer:
    After successful verification, preliminary offers will be issued to selected candidates.

How to Apply

Candidates can apply through the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal. Depending on their enrollment status, the process is categorized into three types:

  • Category A (Already Enrolled in NATS Portal):
    • Log in using existing credentials.
    • Complete the application form and generate a unique 12-digit enrollment number.
    • Apply for advertised BDL vacancies under the portal.
  • Category B (Enrolled but Not Applied for BDL Before):
    • Log in to the portal using existing credentials.
    • Complete the application form and search for BDL vacancies.
    • Apply to confirm submission.
  • Category C (First-Time Enrollment):
    • Register as a new user on the NATS portal.
    • Complete personal and educational details to generate a 12-digit enrollment number.
    • Apply for BDL vacancies via the portal.

Document Requirements

Candidates must upload self-attested copies of the following documents while applying:

  • Provisional or Final BE/B.Tech/Diploma certificate
  • Consolidated marks sheet (percentage of marks must be entered in the portal)
  • Caste/Community certificate (if claiming reservation)
  • Aadhaar Card (mandatory for bank account verification)

Failure to upload percentage marks will result in disqualification.

Important Instructions

  • Travel & Accommodation: No TA/DA or boarding/lodging will be provided for attending certificate verification or joining.
  • Employment Guarantee: Completing the apprenticeship does not guarantee employment at BDL. Candidates cannot claim any right to employment based on training completion.
  • Prohibited Conduct: Any form of canvassing or pressure will disqualify the candidate, and their name will be removed from official records.
  • Bank Account Requirement: All applicants must have an Aadhaar-linked bank account for stipend disbursement.
