Vacancy Details: Professor, Associate Professor & Assistant Professor

SSJ GIMS&R aims to fill a total of 88 faculty positions across various departments. The posts are on a yearly renewable contract basis for a maximum period of 03 years or until regular appointments are made.

1. Professor (08 Posts)

  • Departments: Blood Bank, Community Medicine, Psychiatry, Radiodiagnosis, Emergency Medicine, Dermatology (Skin & VD), PMR, General Surgery.

2. Associate Professor (40 Posts)

  • Departments: Anatomy-01*, Biochemistry-02*, Microbiology-02*, Physiology-01*, Blood Bank-01, Pharmacology-01*, Pathology-03, Community Medicine-02, Radiodiagnosis-02, Psychiatry-01, Paediatrics-03, Respiratory Medicine-01, Obst. & Gynae-01, Anesthesiology-03, General Surgery-04, General Medicine-04, Orthopaedic-03, Ophthalmology-01, Skin & VD-01, P.M.R.-01, Emergency Medicine-01, Radiotherapy-01.

3. Assistant Professor (40 Posts)

  • Departments: Anatomy-02*, Physiology-03*, Pathology-03, Blood Bank-02, Microbiology-01*, Pharmacology-03*, Community Medicine-01, Pediatrics-02, Orthopedics-02, Anesthesiology-03, Radio diagnosis-02, General Surgery-04, Obst. & Gynae-03, General Medicine-04, Emergency Medicine-02, PMR-01, Skin & VD-01, Radiotherapy-01.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Academic & Professional Qualification: Must be as per the prevailing Norms of the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the Policy of the Uttarakhand State Government.
  • Age Limit: The maximum age limit will be determined as per the aforementioned NMC and State Government rules.
  • Reservation: All reservation policies (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD, etc.) will be applied as per the Uttarakhand State Government Rules. Valid category certificates must be presented during registration.

Pay Scale & Emoluments: A Competitive Package

The compensation structure includes a attractive monthly pay combined with the Medical Teachers Deficiency Compensatory Scheme (MTDCS). Radiology offers a separate, highly lucrative package.

Selection Process

The selection of candidates will be based solely on a Walk-In-Interview.

  • There will be no written test.
  • The interview process is designed to assess candidates’ subject knowledge, teaching aptitude, clinical experience, and research contributions.
  • The Chairman of the Interview Committee reserves the right to accept or reject any application without assigning any reason.
  • The number of posts advertised is subject to change (may be increased or decreased) at the time of the interview and final selection.

Application Process: How to Apply

Since this is a walk-in interview, the application process is conducted in person on the day of the event.

Step 1: Prepare Your Application Dossier

Candidates must bring the following documents in original along with a set of self-attested copies:

  1. Detailed Curriculum Vitae (Resume): A comprehensive account of your academic and professional journey.
  2. Academic & Professional Certificates: Self-attested copies of all degrees (MBBS, MD/MS/DNB), registration certificates, and other relevant diplomas.
  3. Experience Certificates: Documents substantiating your previous work experience.
  4. Research Publications: Copies of your indexed research publications as per NMC guidelines.
  5. Photographs: Two (2) recent passport-size photographs.
  6. Category Certificate: A valid certificate for the relevant category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD), if applicable.

Step 2: Attend the Interview on the Stipulated Date

  • Arrive at the Principal’s Office, SSJ GIMS&R, Almora, on 28th October, 2025 (Tuesday).
  • Complete your registration at the venue between 10:00 AM and 01:00 PM. Registration will not be permitted after 1:00 PM under any circumstances.
  • After successful registration, await your turn for the personal interview.
