The Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has officially released a detailed notification inviting online applications from eligible candidates who are domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir for the post of Assistant Professors in various Government Medical Colleges across the Union Territory. This recruitment drive aims to fill Gazetted vacancies in the Health & Medical Education Department.
This recruitment is conducted under the provisions of the Government Medical College Gazetted Service Recruitment Rules 2021, and in accordance with the Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission (Business and Procedure) Rules, 2021.
The appointed candidates will be offered a pay level of 11 (₹67,700 – ₹2,08,700) as per the 7th Pay Commission, along with other allowances applicable under Government rules.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational/Professional Qualification
Candidates must possess the prescribed qualifications from institutions recognized by the Medical Council of India (Now National Medical Commission) or University Grants Commission (UGC). A minimum of two years of teaching or research experience as Registrar, Tutor, Demonstrator, or Senior Resident after post-graduation is required.
Examples of required qualifications per discipline:
- Anatomy: MS/MD/DNB Anatomy, or MBBS with M.Sc. (Anatomy), or M.Sc. (Medical Anatomy) with Ph.D./D.Sc.
- Biochemistry: MD/DNB Biochemistry, or MBBS with M.Sc. (Medical Biochemistry), or M.Sc. with Ph.D./D.Sc.
- Pharmacology: MD/DNB Pharmacology, or MBBS with Ph.D./M.Sc. (Medical Pharmacology)
- Microbiology: MD/DNB (Microbiology/Bacteriology), or MBBS with M.Sc. & Ph.D./D.Sc. (Medical Microbiology)

Age relaxations will be provided as per Government rules for reserved categories and in-service candidates.
Reservation
- Candidates claiming reservation must possess a valid category certificate issued on or before the cutoff date.
- Reservation claims will be provisional until verified by the Appointing Authority.
- False claims may lead to disqualification and further legal action.
Domicile Requirement
- Candidates must be domiciles of Jammu & Kashmir.
- A valid Domicile Certificate must be uploaded while submitting the online application.

- General Category: ₹1,200
- Reserved Categories: ₹700
- PHC Candidates: Nil
The fee must be paid online during the application process. Applications submitted without fee payment will be rejected. Multiple applications or incorrect payment details may lead to disqualification.

No hard copies are required at the time of application. Original certificates will be verified at the time of document verification.
