Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) Apprentice Recruitment 2025: Apply Online for 1213 Vacancies

Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), a Mini Ratna Company and a subsidiary of Coal India Limited (Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Coal), has released an official notification for the engagement of Apprentice Trainees for the financial year 2025–26.

The recruitment is being conducted under the provisions of The Apprentices Act, 1961, to provide one year of apprenticeship training to eligible Graduate, Diploma, ITI (Trade), and Fresher candidates across various trades.

Who Can Apply

1. Nationality: Only Indian nationals are eligible.
2. Qualification Location / Domicile:
   • Candidates who have completed their qualifying education from recognized institutions located in Madhya Pradesh or Maharashtra, OR
   • Permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh or Maharashtra (proof required through domicile certificate).
3. Preference: For Trade Apprentice positions, preference will be given to candidates who are residents of the district where the establishment’s head office is located.

Types of Apprenticeships & Educational Qualifications

1. Graduate Apprentice

• Monthly Stipend: ₹12,300
• Duration: 12 months
• Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized university.

2. Technician (Diploma) Apprentice

• Monthly Stipend: ₹10,900
• Duration: 12 months
• Qualification: Diploma in Mining Engineering or Mining and Mine Surveying Engineering from a recognized institute.

Note:
Half of the stipend for Graduate and Diploma Apprentices will be paid by the Government of India through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.

3. Trade Apprentices (ITI Trades)

Monthly Stipend varies depending on the trade (₹8,200 – ₹11,040 per month)

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on 01 August 2025):

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 26 years
  Candidates must be born between 02 August 1999 and 02 August 2007.

Age Relaxation:

• SC/ST: 5 years
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
• PwBD: 10 years (15 years for SC/ST and 13 years for OBC candidates)

Reservation for Persons with Disabilities (PwBD)

The reservation for PwBD candidates has been made as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, 2016, and the Gazette Notification dated January 4, 2021.

• Computer Operator, Mechanic Diesel: OL, BL, LV, HH
• Electrician, Fitter, Welder, Draughtsman: OL, HH
• Machinist, Turner, Pump Operator: OL, LV, HH, CP, LC, Dw, AAV

Selection Process

• Selection will be based on merit, prepared according to the marks obtained in the qualifying examination (Degree/Diploma/ITI/Matric).
• There will be no written test or interview.
• Shortlisted candidates will be published in the merit list on December 22, 2025.
