Age Limit
Applicants should be a minimum of 21 years old, and the maximum age as of 01.08.2025 varies according to their category.
- Unreserved (Male): 37 years
- The maximum age limit is 40 years for candidates who are male or female in the Backward Class/Extremely Backward Class, and for females in the Unreserved category.
- The age limit for both male and female candidates from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes is 42 years.
Relaxation in Age Limit:
- Bihar government employees are granted an age relaxation of 5 years. However, they can only appear in the competitive examination a maximum of 5 times during their service. A valid certificate from the designated authority is required.
- Candidates with disabilities get up to 10 years of age relaxation beyond the maximum age limit. Candidates must submit a valid disability certificate.
- Ex-Servicemen: Eligible for 3 years of age relaxation, plus additional years equivalent to the service period spent in defense, provided the maximum age does not exceed 57 years. A valid service certificate must be submitted.

The total number of vacancies available under this recruitment is 935 posts. Out of these, 319 posts are reserved for women candidates under a 35% horizontal reservation policy.

Pay Scale
Selected candidates will be appointed at Initial Pay Level-5, with a basic pay of ₹53,100/- to 1,67,800. The salary may vary according to subsequent revisions made by the State Government from time to time.
Educational Qualification

Important Notes:
- Each question carries 1 mark.
- Negative marking: 1/3 mark for each incorrect answer.
- The General Language papers (English and Hindi) are only qualifying, and you need to score at least 30% marks in each language. Other papers will be evaluated only after passing the language papers.
Reservation Policy
Candidates must carefully mark their reservation category while filling the online application. Only certificates that are officially issued by the authorized authority will be considered valid. Wrongly filled categories or incomplete certificates may result in cancellation of the candidature.

Horizontal Reservations:
- 35% reservation for women natives of Bihar.
- 4% of the seats are reserved horizontally for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWBD). Applicants who have more than one disability need to submit a Multiple Disability Certificate (Form VI).
- Candidates requiring scribe assistance must indicate the requirement in the application and attach the required certificate.
How to Apply
The application process will be conducted entirely online through the BPSC One Time Registration (OTR) system.
Steps to Apply:
- Visit the official BPSC online portal.
- If you haven’t done it yet, finish the One Time Registration (OTR) process. Click on the New User Registration button.
- OTR is valid for all future BPSC advertisements and is not an examination application by itself.
- Ensure a valid email ID and mobile number for OTP verification.
- After registration, login to your dashboard using your email/mobile and password.
- Fill the online application form for the advertised post accurately, ensuring all information and reservations are correctly mentioned.
- Upload required certificates where applicable, including caste, disability, and scribe requirements.
- Submit the application before the deadline, and keep a copy of the submitted application for future reference.
Note: Multiple OTR registrations are not allowed, and candidates must ensure all information is correct before submission.
