Hubli Electricity Supply Company Limited (HESCOM), one of the leading power distribution companies in Karnataka, has released a notification inviting applications from fresh engineering graduates and diploma holders for one-year Apprenticeship Training under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961. This is an excellent opportunity for young professionals in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering stream to gain practical exposure, industry experience, and hands-on training in the power sector.
The apprenticeship program is designed to help students transition from academic learning to industrial application, thereby boosting their employability in the future. Both B.E./B.Tech graduates and Diploma holders are eligible to apply. The training will commence from November 2025 and will last for one year.

Vacancy Details
A total of 338 apprenticeship vacancies have been announced across two categories. The details are as follows:
- Graduate Apprentices (B.E/B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering)
- Total Posts: 200
- Stipend: ₹9,000 per month
- Duration: 1 year
- Diploma Apprentices (Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering)
- Total Posts: 138
- Stipend: ₹8,000 per month
- Duration: 1 year

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- For Graduate Apprentices:
- Candidate must have passed B.E./B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from a recognized University/Institution approved by AICTE or Central/State Government.
- For Diploma Apprentices:
- Candidate must have completed a 3-year Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from a Polytechnic/Institution recognized by the Central/State Government.
Note:
- Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training or currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 are not eligible.
- Candidates who already have one year of work experience after completion of their qualification are also not eligible.
Age Limit
- The age limit will be followed as per Apprenticeship Rules prescribed by the Government of India.
- Candidates should ensure they meet the prescribed age before applying.
Reservation Policy
Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories will be applicable as per Apprenticeship Rules and Government of India guidelines.
- Candidates claiming reservation must produce valid caste/category certificates in the prescribed government format.
- OBC candidates must specifically submit OBC certificates in the prescribed format, otherwise, they will be treated under the Unreserved (UR) category.
Salary / Stipend Details
Apprentices selected under this scheme will receive a monthly stipend during the training period.
- Graduate Apprentice: ₹9,000/- per month
- Diploma Apprentice: ₹8,000/- per month
The stipend is fixed and no additional allowances such as HRA, DA, medical benefits, or transport facilities will be provided.
Duration of Training
The apprenticeship training program will run for one year only. Upon successful completion, candidates will be awarded a certificate of apprenticeship training, which is highly valuable for future employment opportunities in both public and private power sectors.
Physical Fitness Requirements
As per Clause 4 of the Apprenticeship Rules 1992 and its amendments, candidates must meet the minimum standards of physical fitness before being admitted to the training program. This ensures that apprentices can safely and effectively participate in industrial work.
Selection Process
The Board of Apprenticeship Training (Southern Region), Chennai will handle the shortlisting of candidates.
- The selection process will be based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examinations (B.E./B.Tech or Diploma).
- Shortlisted candidates will be notified via:
- HESCOM official website
- NATS portal
- Registered email ID of the candidate
Document Verification
Shortlisted candidates must appear in person for document verification at the HESCOM office in Hubballi. The following documents in original and self-attested photocopy format must be produced:
- Mark sheets (all years/semesters) and degree/diploma certificates
- Proof of date of birth (Birth certificate, SSLC/10th admit card, etc.)
- Caste/Category certificate (if applicable)
- Disability certificate (for PwD candidates)
- Photo ID proof (Aadhar card, Voter ID, PAN card, etc.)
- Recent passport-sized photographs
Failure to attend the verification or provide correct documents will lead to disqualification.
Application Process
Candidates must apply through the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal. The application process involves two parts:
Step 1: NATS Portal Registration
- Fresh candidates must register as a student on the NATS portal and obtain a 12-digit enrollment number.
- Candidates already registered must log in using their existing credentials.
Step 2: Applying for HESCOM Apprenticeship
- After registration, login to the portal.
- Search for “Hubli Electricity Supply Company” under advertised vacancies.
- Click apply to submit your application for the apprenticeship training program.
Once the application is successfully submitted, candidates should keep a copy of the acknowledgement for future reference.
General Instructions for Applicants
- Candidates must know Kannada language (reading and writing).
- The apprenticeship must be undertaken within five years of passing the qualifying examination.
- No travel or boarding allowance will be provided for attending document verification.
- Apprenticeship does not guarantee employment in HESCOM after completion.
- Incomplete applications or those submitted after the deadline will be rejected.
- Any canvassing or attempts to influence the selection process will lead to disqualification.
