- UR(PWD) Vacancies:

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements to apply for WBMSC Sub-Assistant Engineer (Civil) 2025:
1. Educational Qualifications:
- A Diploma in Civil Engineering from the State Council for Engineering & Technical Education or an equivalent recognized institution.
- Applicants holding advanced qualifications in Civil Engineering are also eligible.
2. Age Limit:
- Maximum Age: 37 years as of 1st January 2025.
- Age will be calculated based on the Madhyamik or equivalent certificate.
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST candidates of West Bengal: +5 years
- OBC candidates of West Bengal: +3 years
- Individuals with Disabilities (PWD, 40% or more) can apply up to the age of 45 years.
- Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation up to actual military service period plus 3 years.
Note: SC, ST, and OBC candidates from other states are treated as general candidates for age relaxation purposes.
3. Other Requirements:
- Candidates must be citizens of India.
- Must have a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) if currently employed in a Central/State Government/Semi-Government/Local body.
- Applicants may need to provide evidence of residence within Kolkata Municipal Corporation boundaries for emergency assignments.
Reservation Policy
Reservation for various categories will be strictly adhered to according to West Bengal government rules and guidelines issued by the Backward Classes Welfare Department, PWD Department, and other relevant authorities.

Method of Recruitment
The recruitment process for Sub-Assistant Engineer (Civil) will be conducted in two stages:
Stage 1: Written Test (OMR-based)
- Total Marks: 200
- Questions: 100 multiple-choice questions
- Marks per Question: 2
- Negative Marking: -1 for each incorrect answer
- Time Duration: 1.5 hours
- Language: English
Stage 2: Personality Test
- Total Marks: 40
- Candidates equal to three times the number of vacancies will be called for the Personality Test.

Final Merit List:
- Prepared based on total marks obtained in Written Test + Personality Test
- Tie-breakers:

Submission of Bond
Candidates shortlisted for document verification must submit a bond on ₹50/- Non-Judicial Stamp Paper stating:
- In case of appointment, the candidate will arrange for temporary lodging/shelter within KMC area for emergency duties whenever required.
This ensures that the appointed candidates are ready to serve the city at short notice in emergency scenarios.
Scribe Facility
Candidates with blindness, low vision, or locomotor/cerebral palsy with dominant extremity affected (≥40%) may avail the facility of a scribe for the Written Examination.
- Scribe requests must be submitted in person to WBMSC from 23rd September to 25th September 2025 between 11:00 AM to 04:00 PM.
- Requests must be accompanied by requisite bonafide certificate.
- Requests from any person other than the candidate will not be entertained.
Examination Center
- The Written Examination will be conducted only in Kolkata.
- Candidates are advised to report early to examination centers, adhering to all instructions regarding prohibited items.
